Seattle's National Hockey League team and the league's 32nd franchise finally has a name, the Kraken. On Thursday, the Seattle Kraken not only released its team name but they also revealed their logo and jerseys.

Washington NFL team is retiring Redskins name and logo

The Washington NFL team announced on Monday morning that it will be retiring the "Redskins" nickname and logo after completing a thorough review that started on July 3rd. "Today, we are announcing we will be retiring the Redskins name and logo upon completion of this review," the team said in a statment. 

Toronto Blue Jays awaiting approval to host games at Rogers Centre

Pending an approval from the Canadian federal government, the Toronto Blue Jays will be hosting games for the 2020 MLB season at Rogers Centre. Reports surfaced on Monday morning that the club was loading up trucks at the Blue Jays spring training facility in Dunedin, Florida and are getting ready to head up north. 

MLB targets 60-game season starting in late July

According to multiple reports from baseball insiders Ken Rosenthal and Jeff Passan, Major League Baseball plans to hold a 60-game season beginning around July 24th with players reporting to home stadiums by July 1st to prepare for the shortened season. Although fans may be reluctant to celebrate the potential return of baseball, this is biggest step towards beginning the 2020 season. 

NBA targeting July 31st as return date

Basketball fans, get ready to rejoice. The end of the NBA drought could be over by the end of next month according to ESPN Senior Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Sources tell ESPN that commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA are currently modeling a 22-team format for the season's proposed resumption beginning July 31 at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida, with the last possible date for a Finals Game 7 on October 12th.

NHL announces Return to Play Plan

Hockey fans can rejoice knowing that the Stanley Cup will be awarded for the 2019-20 season. Earlier this week, the National Hockey League announced a Return To Play Plan for the 2019-20 season, which includes a modified  24 teams playoff format at two "hub" cities beginning later this summer.
