Canadian Tire Centre is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Ottawa, Ontario located in the western suburb of Kanata and is the home of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. The arena opened in January 1996 as The Palladium and was also known as Corel Centre from 1996 to 2006 and Scotiabank Place from 2006 to 2013. In 2004, the ownership applied to expand its seating. The City of Ottawa amended its bylaws in December 2004, and in 2005, the venue was allowed to increase its seating capacity to 19,153 and total attendance to 20,500 when including standing room.
