Epcot, or the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, was dreamt up by Walt Disney himself. When it opened in 1982, Epcot transformed from a community concept into a World's Fair-inspired park focusing on science, technology, and the arts. Disney's Hollywood Studios was Walt Disney World's third park, opening in 1989. This park is regularly updated, most recently expanding by 11 acres to accommodate the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This attraction lets guests live their Star Wars adventure on Earth and not in a galaxy far, far away. The final theme park at Walt Disney World Resort is Disney's Animal Kingdom. Different from the rest of Walt Disney World's theme parks, Animal Kingdom features traditional attractions while also showcasing hundreds of species of live animals.
