The Hôtel Bonaparte is well known for being one of the most charming properties in Old Montreal's hotel scene. This historic five-story building was built in 1886 and the aura of times past have been preserved beautifully. The old stone, intricate woodwork and Louis-Philippe style furnishings help past meet present in this hotel – and their restaurant is no different. Located inside Hôtel Bonaparte, Bonaparte Restaurant was established in 1999 with the goal of breaking the trends of uniformity and impersonality common among chain restaurants. Set in an Empire style, popular in the Napoleon-era, this restaurant provides guests with an intimate experience to partner with their amazing food.

All of the dishes at Bonaparte Restaurant are prepared with French culinary know-how in an effort to showcase the finest and freshest regional ingredients that they use. The menu offers a wide range of epicurean choices and has something for every taste. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner menus so there is never a bad time to stop by. For both lunch and dinner Bonaparte Restaurant offers a number of set menus that you can choose from which include a first course, main course, dessert and coffee. We highly recommend trying their "Menu Degustation". This dinner was delicious. Consisting of your choice of six pre-selected courses this menu offers smaller portions of several of the house specialties so you can eat a little bit of everything. The dinner tasting menu that we experienced offered their delicious lobster bisque to start, followed up with a homemade smoked salmon served with truffle oil, then their mushroom ravioli with fresh sage. After their ravioli we moved into their delicious pear and tarragon sorbet and our choice of main course, their roasted rack of lamb and port wine jus which was then followed up with dessert and coffee.
