Dallas is home to some great sports franchises including the Dallas Mavericks (basketball), Dallas Stars(hockey), Dallas Cowboys (football) and Texas Rangers (Baseball). The Stars and Mavericks share a home in the American Airlines Center located in Downtown's Victory Park, while the Cowboys and Rangers play in near by Arlington. Both AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park are just 20 miles away from Downtown Texas.
American Airlines Center opened in 2001 and cost $420 million to construct. The multi-purpose arena is not only the home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars, but it also hosts many concerts and other high profile events in Dallas. American Airlines Center's capacity for basektball is 21,146 and for the building can hold up to 19,323 fans for hockey.
